Shipping Policy

 

The Desi Closet SA (Pty) Ltd is an online retailer and does not operate a physical retail store. All South African orders are shipped via The Courier Guy, an independent third-party service provider. Deliveries are made door-to-door only.

 

Please ensure that your shipping address and contact number are correct at the time of purchase. Title and risk pass to you once your order has left our premises.

 

You will be required to sign upon delivery, so please provide a daytime address where someone will be available to receive and sign for your order between 07h30 and 17h00.

 

Where We Ship

We ship anywhere within South Africa, with the exception of mines and embassies.

 

 

Shipping Fees

All South African orders attract a shipping fee starting from R120, depending on the delivery location and option you select for shipping. 

 

Changing Your Shipping Address

If you need to update your shipping address, please contact us as soon as possible. 

We can only make changes before your order has been dispatched. Shipments are booked promptly to ensure fast delivery, so delays in communication may prevent us from updating the address.

 

Please double-check that your address is complete and accurate, including all necessary details to avoid delivery issues.

 

Order Dispatch

- Orders are booked and packaged Monday to Friday before 10am 

- Orders will be dispatched within 24–48 hours of confirmation. 

- Deliveries typically take up to one week from the date of order confirmation. 

- Orders placed over weekends or public holidays will be shipped on the next working day. 

- Shipping updates will only be provided one week after your order, if it has not already been received. 

 

Delivery Timeframes

While many deliveries are completed overnight, our courier partners generally commit to delivery within 3–5 working days. 

If you require express delivery, please contact us so we can arrange this on your behalf (additional costs may apply).

 

Non-Delivery

If a non-delivery occurs due to an error on your part (for example, an incorrect name or shipping address), any additional costs incurred for re-delivery will be charged to you.

 

Liabilities

The Desi Closet SA (Pty) Ltd shall not be held liable for delays or non-delivery caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, fires, wars, or other unforeseen events.

 

We are also not liable for loss or damage caused by our logistics partners during delivery. We will, however, assist you in lodging a claim with the courier where possible. Please note that outcomes of such claims cannot be guaranteed.

 

Order Fulfilment

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our sole discretion. 

Orders may be cancelled for reasons including, but not limited to:

- Limited stock availability 

- Pricing or product information errors 

- Potential fraud concerns 

 

If your order (or part thereof) is cancelled, or if further verification is required, we will contact you promptly.

 

International Shipping

We currently offer international shipping to the following countries: 

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States.

- International shipping fees are calculated at checkout. 

- Please allow up to three weeks for delivery from the date of order confirmation. 

 

Customs, Duties, and Taxes (International Orders)

When ordering from The Desi Closet SA (Pty) Ltd for delivery outside South Africa, you may be subject to import duties, taxes, or customs fees, which are applied once the package reaches your country. 

These additional charges are your responsibility, and we have no control over their amount or timing.

 

Customs policies vary by country; we recommend contacting your local customs office for more information.

 

By purchasing internationally, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your country. 

Please note that:

- Customs authorities may inspect or open packages during clearance. 

- Failure to pay customs duties or taxes may result in your package being seized by authorities, in which case no refund can be issued.
