What This Season Is Teaching Me About Grace

What This Season Is Teaching Me About Grace

Women's Month has always been a time to celebrate strong women.

The women who lead.
The women who nurture.
The women who somehow hold families, businesses, friendships and communities together, often without anyone noticing just how much they're carrying.

For a long time, I believed strength looked like having all the answers.

Like never falling apart.
Like always knowing the next step.
Like making everything work, no matter the cost.

This year has gently taught me something different.

Strength doesn't always look loud.

Sometimes, it looks like choosing peace.

Sometimes, it looks like asking for help.

Sometimes, it looks like waking up each morning, putting one foot in front of the other, and trusting that tomorrow will make a little more sense than today.

Healing, I've discovered, isn't linear.

Some mornings you feel lighter than you've felt in months.

Other days, a memory, a song, or an ordinary moment catches you by surprise.

And that's okay.

Healing isn't about forgetting.

It's about making room for joy again.

One of the biggest lessons this season has taught me is that you can love people and still let them go.

Love isn't always measured by how tightly we hold on.

Sometimes, love is found in choosing kindness when life changes.

In wishing someone well, even as your paths begin to lead in different directions.

In understanding that not every relationship is meant to last forever, but every relationship can leave us with something valuable to carry forward.

There is grace in that.

There is grace in accepting that endings don't always mean failure.

Sometimes they simply make space for new beginnings.

For me, this season has become one of rediscovery.

After fifteen years, I climbed back into the saddle and found a piece of myself I thought I'd left behind.

I've spent more time outdoors, surrounded by animals, fresh air and quiet moments that remind me to slow down.

I've poured my heart into growing The Desi Closet, not just as a business, but as a community for women to celebrate themselves through every stage of life.

And somewhere along the way, I've realised that beginning again isn't reserved for our twenties.

We can begin again at thirty.

At forty.

At fifty.

At sixty.

As many times as life asks us to.

There is no age limit on becoming the woman you were always meant to be.

Perhaps that's what grace really is.

Not pretending life has been easy.

Not pretending your heart has never been broken.

But choosing to keep your heart open anyway.

As we step into Women's Month, I hope every woman reading this remembers that she doesn't have to earn her strength.

She already carries it.

It shows up in the meals she cooks after a long day.

In the children she raises.

In the business she keeps alive.

In the dreams she quietly refuses to abandon.

And sometimes, it shows up in the brave decisions nobody else sees.

In just a few weeks, many of us will begin preparing for Navarathri—a celebration of the Divine Feminine in all her forms.

Each day reminds us that womanhood is not defined by just one quality.

We are gentle, yet fierce.

Compassionate, yet courageous.

Soft, yet incredibly resilient.

We carry the strength of Durga, the abundance of Lakshmi, and the wisdom of Saraswati within us, often without even realising it.

Perhaps that's why this season feels so fitting.

Women's Month reminds us to honour the women around us.

Navarathri reminds us to honour the woman within us.

As I look toward the celebrations ahead, I find myself filled with hope.

Not because life is perfect.

But because I've learned that joy and healing can exist together.

That gratitude can live alongside grief.

That peace often arrives quietly, long before our circumstances have completely changed.

So this Women's Month, my wish for you is simple.

May you give yourself grace.

May you stop measuring your life against the timeline you imagined.

May you trust that beginning again is not a sign that you've failed, but proof that you still believe in the beauty of tomorrow.

Because no matter what chapter you're living today, there is still so much life waiting for you.

And sometimes, the woman you become after life's hardest seasons is the woman you were always destined to be.
